Once again while there are exceptions, it is safe to be there. Like any place in the world, there are areas you may not want to venture into, but I have yet to find one. I have had my wife and children in country and I never felt uneasy anywhere we went. We went on an unescorted shopping trip and had a lovely time. It was obvious from our accents we were not locals, but we were always treated with courtesy and respect. Namibia in particular has modern, clean cities with up-to-date medical care if you need it. This is a surprise to some as Namibia is one of the most sparsely populated countries of the world. To me it is a great combination. Namibia has the wildest of the wild and a metropolitan lifestyle all in the same place.
