Argentina 2013: A Wonderful Hunt and Fantastic Vacation; First Evening in Iguazu

by david on September 4, 2013

The domestic flight to Iguazú was simple and uneventful.  It turned out we did not need to worry quite so much about overweight bags.  The bags were over-weight, but as long as you were within a pound or two, no one said much.  Our driver was waiting for us at the airport and he deposited us at our condo about 7:00 pm.  Before he left, we got him to tell us about some of his favorite places to eat.  As soon as we had a quick potty break, we headed out in search of them.

We ended up at a place called “a Piacere”.  I had beef ribs with papas fritas (French fries) in a buttery, garlic, parsley sauce and the girls had fish.  Kris had salmon, while Janice and Jessica had the local river fish.  We were luckily able to find the same malbec (different vintage) as the one we liked in Buenos Aries and it was every bit as good.  We were becoming quite fond of the Finca Flichman Roble Malbec.  The odd thing was this wine was better than some expensive wines.  It was only about $8.00 per bottle.  After the second bottle, it was almost 10:00 pm and we had an early day tomorrow, so it was time for the short walk back, a quick shower, and some shut eye.
