What to take: Gear List

I wanted to give everyone a little idea about what I was planning on taking, so I am going to copy the list South American Adventure Safaris sent me.  The list is as follows.

Checklist:

(This is a suggested equipment list to make your trip more enjoyable.  Please feel free to bring any other equipment that you consider necessary)

Passport

 2 guns * (Shotguns, Semi-auto are strongly recommended)

 Hard gun case for airline

 Soft gun case for field

 Small field bag /day pack

 Shooting vest / shells belt

 Recoil pad

 Portable gun cleaning kit / gun oil

 Shooting glasses

 Sunglasses

 Shooting gloves

 Ear / hearing protector

 Insect repellent (35 % Deet or more) – VERY IMPORTANT!!!

 Pocket knife

 Sunscreen

 Aloe Vera gel for sunburn

 Camera gear and film

 Small flashlight

 Electrical converter (220 volt)

 Hunting cap / hat

 Hunting boot (water proof / Gore Tex)

 Camp tennis shoes

 Rain gear **

 3 or 4 Pair of Cotton Khaki or field color socks **

 3 or 4 Pair of hunting shirts, both long sleeve and short sleeve **

 2 pullover / sweater **

 1 jacket **

 2 or 3 pants **

 1 pair wader ** Or hip boots (Only if your hunt includes duck hunting)

 Toiletries

 Any other personal items, such as medications, etc.

 

NOTE:

* IT IS RECOMMENDED NOT TO BRING TOO MUCH CLOTHES, LAUNDRY SERVICE IS AVAILABLE AT THE LODGE (included in the price).
