To Rent or not To Rent? That is the question.

The next decision we had to make was whether to take our own shotguns or not.  We could either bring our own or rent them from the lodge for $70 per day.  Getting hunting weapons through Argentine customs is not supposed to be much of a big deal, and a representative from the lodge would be available to help us do so if we desired.  The main thing on my mind was the possibility of a mechanical failure.  We were planning on at least 2000 rounds each over the course of the hunt.  That is a lot of wear and tear on a shotgun in a relatively short period of time.  The lodge uses top-shelf guns (Beretta AL391s) and the rental rate seemed pretty reasonable to me.  If we are using one of their guns and it malfunctions, our host simply hands us another one.  That fact, and the bonus of not having to go through the hassle of traveling with firearms, deserved some serious consideration.  It was a no brainer to me to use the rented guns and, in the end, everyone in the group decided to do the same thing.
